Holiness

This blog entry is mostly for me. I've been studying about holiness and wanted to pin this entry on Pinterest for myself for future use. It may also be encouraging to you. 

HOLINESS

Definitions
Holiness: the quality or state of being holy. Sanctification.
Holy: exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness. devoted entirely to the deity or the work of the deity. 

Synonyms
devout, godly, pious, religious, sainted, saintly

Antonyms
faithless, godless, impious, irreligious, ungodly, unholy, antireligious 

God is Holy 

Joshua 24:19
But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. 

Psalms 96:9
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
 
Isaiah 6:3
And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

Ezekiel 38:23

We are called to be holy 

1 Thessalonians 4:7
