Bible in 90 Days Reading Challenge 2014

90 Day Bible Reading Challenge
JANUARY 1, 2014- MARCH 31, 2014

I am taking the challenge of reading the Bible all the way through in 90 days. Would you like to join me??

WHY do the Bible in 90 Days Challenge?
Spending time in God's word is important. More of Christ in- More of Christ out. (For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45b)

Last year after searching for an online accountability group already in existence I stumbled upon a 90 day reading challenge and got really excited. :) It combined my desire to spend time in God's Word with my desire to read the entire Bible through. A group of us completed the plan- some in as little as 87 days... some took a little longer but they stuck it out and completed it with God's help.

(Although this is a 90 day plan you might not finish in 90 days- it might take 6 months or longer. You never know what will come across your path during the next 90 days. It's okay!! PRAY and ask God to help you through even if you can't keep up with the plan. You will be blessed! God's word is powerful and you will know Him better the more you read, pray, and apply.)

Details/Requirements
1. Because we are reading quickly (45 minutes- 1 hour each day) we will not actually be studying it. We are reading the Bible like reading a novel.
2. You must R E A D the Bible. (Occasionally listening to the Bible is okay but try to read it 90% of the time.)
3. I will NOT be interpreting anything for you. We'll let the Holy Spirit take care of that.
4. You MUST check in every Monday and comment on the facebook page/or e-mail that you are still reading with me. You can share where you are at- you might be ahead or behind.
5. Be HONEST. If you are failing then admit it. An accountability group won't work if you aren't honest.

How can you join???
1. Send me a message- facebook, e-mail, text, respond to this entry- letting me know you are joining me/us.
2. Choose which plan you will follow- straight through OR chronological.
3. If you choose to read straight through, print the bookmark located at the link below)
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PRINTABLE BOOKMARK which outlines the straight through plan.
(also available on the YouVersion Bible app)
4. If you choose to read chronologically, let me know and I will send you the 90 day plan for that.
5. Pray and ask God to help you in this big commitment.
6. Join the facebook page.
7. Invite friends to join. Send them to this blog entry.
8. Pray for ME!

I commit to…
  • pray for you by name
  • to encourage you
  • NOT commentate or interpret the Word of God for you, but help you seek His truth for yourself
  • Give you a place to rejoice and to struggle and even fail

Hurricane

Hurricane- Natalie Grant

You’re spinning out of control again
Your life feels like a sinking ship
You’re wondering how it came to this.
Is it too late?
Is it too far?
For him to reach you.
And come to where you are.

Step out the edge
Don’t be afraid of it
And when you feel the rain,
Call his name.
He’ll find you in the hurricane.

You’re in the wreckage underneath
Your hope is buried somewhere deep
You’re wondering how long it will keep.
It’s never too late
Never too far
For you to reach out and take a hold of love

Step out on the edge
Don’t be afraid of it
And when you feel the rain
Call his name
He’ll find you in the hurricane

Don’t back down from the fight
He’ll shelter you tonight
Just hold on for the change
Call his name
He’ll find you in the hurricane

There’s a place, there's a place
You can run
When you fall
And it’s all come undone
You’ll be safe in the raging storm
So just let go
Cause you are held in his arms

Step out on the edge
Don’t be afraid of it
And when you feel the rain
Call his name
He’ll find you in a hurricane.

And when you feel the rain
Call his name
He’ll find you in a hurricane.
