Mom and Sisters Getaway

Two weekends ago I took a much needed trip away with my Mom and sisters. This is the first time we have ever gone away just for the heck of it and it was an absolute blast. We had such a fun, simple, meaningful time together.

We rented a cabin at a state park. It was perfect. We had heat (or a/c if needed) and satellite tv- which we hardly even turned on. We could cook in there and not worry about bugs being all over us. There was a table for us to eat and play games.

We found the couch to be quite comfy.

Relaxing enterainment...

And yummy snacks.

Saturday morning there was a knock at our cabin door. After a brief panic that a hunter was coming to attack us, we peeked out the curtain and it was my Dad! I loved it just being the original five.

After lunch we walked down at the public beach.

Gas, water, fake? (Sister joke from my childhood.)

After changing our shoes we went on a hike to find the private beach.

Back view of our cabin.

After we said goodbye to Dad and had a short rest, we ate dinner.

After dinner we just chilled. We chatted and laughed and just did whatever.

Brooke did all of our hair with her fun new curling thing.

We played games.

And we chilled together some more.

Sunday we had to start making our way home. We took the scenic route and stopped several times.

I hope to make this an annual outing. I really appreciated the time away and loved spending so much time with my family. It was relaxing and peaceful and I'm so thankful for such precious people in my life.
