Why Exercise?
Last
night I came across some notes I had taken over a year ago from a show I
watched on tv where Beth Moore was speaking about exercise/weight
loss/eating healthy/etc. I found the info to be a great reminder...
especially since yesterday on a fitness FB page I was boo-hooing about how I can't seem to lose weight despite eating right, staying under calories, and exercising a minimum of 6 days a week.
1. Our Motivation: 1 Corinthians 6:19a- Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit...
2. Our Objective: Freedom, NOT size or weight.
3. Our Method: All physical exercise is to be done with a worship mentality.
Praise God during the exercise and then finish it up with prayer.
Romans 12:1- Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to
God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

thanks Amy! never thought of exercise as worship....usually for me its done with a grumbly heart/wanna get it over with attitude...but we should praise God in all things. great reminder!
