Simple Woman's Daybook

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Outside my window... very pleasant evening temperature wise but way too many bugs

I am thinking... about my agenda for tomorrow and praying that I am flexible to allow for God's agenda

I am thankful for... Jesus. What a waste my life would be without Him.

From the learning rooms... alphabet flashcards for Alison (learning all sounds this summer in an attempt to make it easier on me in September) and multiplication flashcards for Abigail (she still struggled this year with knowing her facts quickly.)

From the kitchen... Chicken potpie for dinner tonight. Poppyseed chicken, egg noodles, & green beans tomorrow night.

I am wearing... pink flowered pj pants, white v-neck tee, light blue robe

I am creating... 4 cakes this week- piano theme, Mickey Mouse theme, Minnie Mouse theme, & race car theme.

I am going... to do lots of laundry tomorrow.

I am reading... nothing this week.

I am hoping... I don't run in to any cake issues this week.

I am hearing... someone talking in their sleep and channel 28 news
Around the house... very quiet. Was very wild around here today. Glad everyone is sleeping quietly- minus the person who was just sleep talking.

One of my favorite things.. Special Dark candy bars

Praying for... Mike (having surgery 7/28), Aunt Bonny (on a trip with my Mom and is too sick to make the trip home), Mr. Fancher (had a second shoulder surgery), Allison Krull (ear issues)

A Lyric or Two...
Not Too Far From Here - Kim Boyce (By Faith)

Somebody's down to their last dime,
Somebody's running out of time,
Not too far from here

Somebody's got nowhere else to go
Somebody needs a little hope
Not too far from here

And I may not know their name
But I'm praying just the same
That You'll use me Lord to wipe away a tear
'Cause somebody's crying
Not too far from here

Somebody's troubled and confused
Somebody's got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here

Somebody's forgotten how to trust
Somebody's dying for love
Not too far from here

It may be a stranger's face
But I'm praying for Your grace
To move in me and take away the fear
'Cause somebody's hurting
Not too far from here

Help me, Lord, not to turn away from pain
Help me not to rest while those around me weep
Give me Your strength and compassion
When somebody finds the road of life too steep

Now, I'm letting down my guard
And I'm opening my heart
Help me speak your love to every needful ear
Jesus is waiting
Not too far from here
Jesus is waiting
Not too far from here.

A verse to share: If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Galatians 6:3

A few plans for the rest of the week: 4 cakes, check up with the surgeon, Delve marketing research

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... don't have any pics on Mike's work laptop so I'll copy and paste something from Facebook.

Come on now... you know you want to do this too!!!
